“Appleton Farms”

This painting is part of a series in which I'm exploring and painting at various conservation lands in my area. This was my first visit to beautiful Appleton Farms. Just as I was finishing, a guy on a tractor stopped and related that the man who used to live in the white house in this scene has recently had to move from the farm to a nursing home. Since the very scene of my painting was one he'd have seen every day as he went down this lane, the farm workers all agreed they'd pool their money to buy this painting for his upcoming birthday. Regretfully, however, I was unexpectedly out of the country if they later tried to follow up with me. Perhaps this year!
