Boston Esplanade IV
|
It's interesting to paint the
same subjects in different seasons or weather conditions.
This painting was done just a week or two after "Esplanade
I" but the day was crisp and dry, and the effect
is visible in the sharper color and edges. I was intrigued
with the light and shadow on the back side of the
Hatch Shell (an outdoor musical performance venue)
and with the unusual shape and color it lent to the
scene.
