Brook at Hipp Farm, CT
|
I'm surprised to find out that a lot of other people don't get a kick out of being on farms like I do; maybe I grew up on a farm in another life. So I'm grateful that the Hipp Family lets artists come and paint on their property. The cows tend to get alittle too curious and knock over easels, though, so we have to pay attention. In this scene, I liked the varied shapes of the trees capping the hillside, which made for a nice shape in itself. The brook provided some color variation and a nice compositional lead-in through the painting.
