Pan in Garden, Cornish NH
|
If it wasn't enough to have the inspiration of the lovely, colorful gardens at St. Gaudens' homestead in Cornish, the crowning pleasure was also being provided with a figurative sculpture, which I've always appreciated. Because it started raining when I'd completed only about half the painting on site, I was challenged to finish the painting the next day with only my visual memory for reference, a practice strongly advocated by one of my teachers, David Curtis.
